Have you done a course in 'mental health' that wasn't delivered by a health service provider, or a conventional 'mental health' non-government organization, or delivered/co-delivered by clinicians? Have you done a course created and delivered by LE academics who teach community, peer workers, and clinicians, and clinical students about progressive 'mental health' service-user views, social injustice, and epistemic justice, Mad Studies, LE representation of the lived experience voice? Warren courses are founded on years of exceptional and unique peer professional expertise and qualifications?

  • Bespoke Content and User-Experience

    Our courses and coaching programs feature a variety of exploratory formats including downloadable resources, dynamic documents, learning tools such as worksheets, workbooks, checklists, tip-sheets, guides, surveys, quizzes, supplementary articles, one-to-one and group live sessions, multimedia including video, audio, text, and a variety of visual formats. Some courses also contain Reflection Chambers and Challenge Chambers both are unique to Warren Academy. The academy also provides online community forums, user-groups, and chat boards as another way to support mindful emersion from our course content. The Warren incorporates academic Madness perspectives and resources. The content you get deep down in the Warren is a unique course feature -only available here at the World Wide Warren.

  • Mindful Emersion Experiences

    Effectively, we have a 'school' here that doesn't want to be a school and teachers that don't want to teach! We have a different way of seeing things. We prefer to describe what we offer as an exploratory platform through which we facilitate a journey of discovery by encouraging 'explorer rabbits' (that's you) to be self-directed and self-actualizing. We'd rather present information, views, ask questions, present challenges, and sometimes discomfort, but most importantly, the Warren invites critical thought. There's only one thing our Instructor Hares 'teach', rather than teach content (which is what most courses do) we like to encourage and support people TO THINK! When we're provided with quality information and experienced facilitation of critical thought, we learn things that no one else can teach us. If you go through a Rabbit Hole to a full Warren Agility Course (a Full WAC) aim for an accomplished EMERGENCE when you come out.

Who are Warren Courses and Programs For?

The Warren Academy will offer numerous mindful emersion experiences via full Warren Agility Courses (full WACS -medium term courses) premium coaching programs(long term courses) mini-courses, and Warren Hole in One Courses (bite-sized courses). The Warren caters for any individuals personally or professionally interested in health, mental wellbeing, Madness, lived experience (LE) owned wellbeing models and approaches, social issues, change agency, LE peer work, personal development, professional development for transformative practice. The courses are for any interested members of the public, service-users, clinicians, and LE peer workers. The Warren Academy is actioning a staged launch process and will reveal parts of the World Wide Warren by opening up different Rabbit Holes (courses) at scheduled times. The first Rabbit Holes to open focus on personal and systemic change agency. See the checklist here and see if you relate to anything listed.

  • Are you involved in the health or 'mental health' sector in some capacity (personally or professionally) and feel that in some way you might be under-equipped?

  • Are you someone with a personal lived or living experience (LE) of mental distress, ‘psychiatric diagnoses’, 'Madness', or 'mental health' service-use? Do you experience challenges within your health 'treating team', with your colleagues, your family and/or personal support networks regarding how you’d like to be seen, understood, and/or supported?

Hi! My name's Phoebe, I'm a person with a living experience of distress, problems in living, social injustice, marginalization, Madness, spirituality, wellbeing and thriving.

I'm a mother, I’m chocolate, leopard print, and Hello Kitty obsessed, I’m a lover and a fighter!

I've used both private and public 'mental health' services and I believe that navigating our lives, our wellbeing, and especially navigating the 'mental health' system, is at times, like going down a rabbit hole. It's been my dream for several years, to build the World Wide Warren to support people to experience a journey of discovery that is meaningful and useful to them in this challenging world. I'm 45 years young and still filled with curiosity for the world. I'd love it if you'd come and get curious with us in the World Wide Warren!

With a background in lived experience (LE) peer support, executive level LE representation, and board director positions for 'mental health' and advocacy organizations, I work as an LE consultant, trainer, speaker, facilitator, coach, and I'm a lived experience academic, in a teaching and assessing position for clinical allied health students and postgraduates.

Warren Academy Courses and Programs

Mindful Emersion Experiences

Warren Academy has taken some inspiration from Lewis Carroll's book 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland'.

The Academy's World Wide Warren site offers bite-sized courses called Warren Hole in One Courses, mini-courses, medium length courses called Warren Agility Courses (full WACs) and much longer-term premium coaching programs. All Burrows and Chambers in the Warren Agility Courses and premium coaching programs, require mental and emotional agility, and are described as 'Mindful Emersion Experiences'. Meaning that some form of 'emergence' should occur. This is supported by the drip scheduling (controlled release) components of the courses. 

All Warren Agility Course names begin with 'Thru the Rabbit Holes of...' because each course takes you through all the challenges, confusion, and nuances of a topic provided here at the World Wide Warren. Life is like a series of rabbit holes right?

FAQ

  • Some of these courses sound really full on! I read lots of information about them and what if I'm not confident to sign-up?

    Hey rabbit, there's nothing you can't handle in the courses. If you're someone who wants to take a course, then you're someone with a great attitude and all you need in the World Wide Warren is a GREAT ATTITUDE! Just take your time, engross yourself in what you find and take breaks. All you need is the desire to THINK. Other than that, it's about commitment to take a hop of faith into a Rabbit Hole and GIVE IT A GO! Nothing ventured, nothing gained. As Peter Rabbit once quoted; "A good rabbit never gives up." It will be whatever you make it and we just know that you're going to have a meaningful experience down there. Our courses eventually go through a redevelopment process to enable us to offer them to more diverse groups with differing needs - this takes a long time, but it is our commitment

  • Where can I find the course overview and outcomes?

    Easy, simply click on the square image with the title of the course you're interested in (the course card) and it will take you to the designated page for that course (the course page). All your course information is on the course page

  • Why is the one-time payment option the same as the payment plan option? Usually, up-front payments in full are for a lesser amount.

    Down in the Warren we feel an ethical tension around reducing the one-time payment price. This is because it's an economic accessibility issue. We consider that if an individual can afford to pay a significant price for something in one payment, and others cannot, then those who require a payment plan are penalized for their financial circumstances if someone else paying in one sum is getting a discount. Conversely, those who do not experience financial stress are rewarded for their economic position. At the Warren we struggle with seeing the equity of this sales convention

  • Can I complete the course in less time than the stated course length?

    Warren Hole In One Courses can be completed as fast as you like! Hole in One courses have no scheduling component. Some Warren Mini-Courses, all Warren Agility Courses and premium coaching programs, however, cannot be completed faster than their internal scheduling. This is for important reasons, primarily it's to facilitate the mindful emersion experience from the course content. Mini-courses drip scheduling tends to work differently. In some cases, you can complete between 55 - 70% of your course before you are slowed down in the course. Usually, this is when nearing the Library Chambers, those chambers have mandatory two week study period, and the prior burrows regulate how quickly you approach those Library Chambers, and regulate how fast you can complete the Library Chambers once they’ve been opened for you

  • What do I do if I have a technical problem whilst doing the course?

    Ah yes, we'll know how you feel. Don't worry, just contact "Support" under your profile icon on your 'Warren Mud-Map' (AKA student dashboard) and explain your technical issue. Our IT Hares will fix it for you. In the meantime, you can always try the famous DIY IT solution, turn it off and turn it back on again...

  • Will I get a certificate for completing my course?

    Yes, you will get a certificate! Every Rabbit who completes any part of the Warren (a Warren course or program) gets a completion certificate. Meaning if you complete any course, program, or Warren Sub-System (AKA course bundle) you will receive a completion certificate. The premium coaching programs (PCPs) that require pre-requisite criteria to be met on application, also offer a graduation certificate

  • What should I expect after I go through a Rabbit Hole and start a course through the Warren?

    Spoiler alerts... It's enough to say that featured on your Checkout Chamber thank you page, you'll see a reminder message about expectations.

    Quite simply, once into the first Burrow of your course, you'll be greeted with a welcome video by your Instructor Hare. During your journey (course) through the Warren, you'll attain information and resources that are unique to Warren Academy and they're unmatched!

    You may need to take breaks and even if you love ploughing ahead with things, the Warren will moderate your speed.

    All explorer rabbits enrolled on Warren Agility Courses will have access to a course community group where they can tunnel off to and engage with others doing that course at the same time. You can just 'rabbit on' in there and share your insights and experiences.

    During your journey, you'll have different audio and visual experiences as well as the cognitive and emotional ones. (If only we could put smells in there too)!

    Depending on your course, you may find our special inspiration Chambers, Challenge Chambers, and Reflection Chambers at the end of each Burrow that you go through, don't rush or skip them -that's where the magic can happen.We hope you did up some GOLD

  • What if I can’t afford the course price, even at the popular payment option rate?

    Don't you worry Rabbit, you may have other options! The Warren will be offering membership and/or subscription services, which means that you can access course contents plus more, on a weekly to monthly basis for much more manageable payments.

    Are you an NDIS participant? We are currently awaiting our NDIS provider registration confirmation, so you may be able to access the course with your NDIS packaging.

    Are you on DSP and/or have a Health Care Card? For some of our courses, we have special prices just for you!

    Do you have some extenuating financial circumstances but know that you NEED this course? Email your request and contact number us and we'll give you a call.

    Once you've signed up on the sign up page (with the 'sign in' tab at the top header on every page) you have a Warren Account and can contact the Support Burrow under your profile icon, reach us there to discuss your circumstances and we'll get the ball rolling. We look forward to 'rabbiting on' with you.

  • Can I get a refund?

    All Warren Agility Courses and premium coaching programs are fully refundable. Simple email support within 30 days to let us know if you have any kind of problem with the course or if you've simply changed your mind. Warren mini courses and Warren Hole in One courses are not refundable but can be exchanged. You can email support if your course is malfunctioning or if you feel that your course not a good fit for you, and we can exchange it or part exchange it for a different course or coaching program that you might be interested in
